Everyday Hot Porridge

CLASSIC BREAKFAST revisited and oh so good!



Porridge, is an absolute classic breakfast which is becoming a new favorite.  You can dress up this porridge with so many tasty fruits or nuts.  Here is the basic method but do not be afraid to experiment.  This is fall and winter food and so easy to prepare.. 


Serves 4

The night before:

1 1/2 cup milk, almond milk, soy milk or your favorite beverage, even water

3/4 cup Omega Grains

Let sit in a covered sauce pan overnite in the fridge

Allowing the grains to sit overnight and absorb the liquid makes the porridge so easy to digest. Your tummy will love you!

In the morning:

Heat porridge in the sauce pan over medium heat.

Add a chopped apple.

Add extra liquid along with maple syrup or brown sugar before serving.

I love this method of preparing the morning meal. This takes the place of rapid oats with all the goodness of the whole oats.

Every morning can be different depending on the fruit or nuts you add.  You can even take this to work and heat up in the micro.
